WhatsApp for Android Beta has a QR code for payments. You can now scan QR codes to send money, just like the PayTm UPI service.
The WhatsApp payment feature is not available for public use. You need an invitation to activate this feature. WhatsApp has added a brand new payment beta option that allows users to send money by scanning QR codes.
This WhatsApp feature is also linked to the recently added option to send to UPI ID and adds an additional feature to the engagement feature of the world’s most popular messaging application.
Last month WhatsApp launched its payment service in India. However, concerns have been expressed about the safety of this system and its compatibility with the IPU.
The latest addition to QR authorized payments follows the recent deployment of their Send to UPI ID, which is designed to simplify trading without the need to negotiate to receive or send cash.
Using the QR Code function for WhatsApp payments
This feature will only work if you are using the latest beta version of WhatsApp 2.18.93.
To check this QR-code function, go to the parameters → Payments → New payment and select QR-code.
This opens a QR scanner looking for a compatible QR code. Once the QR code has been implemented, you can enter the number to initiate the payment and then authenticate it with your UPI PIN.
WhatsApp Payments is the company’s first attempt to introduce digital payments in India. A few days after launch, WhatsApp Payments was accused of not providing a secure system and not meeting UPI compatibility specifications.
After the introduction of functions for better visibility, such as B. the Send to UPI ID button, the program now also has a QR-code selection.
This feature is now available to users who have signed up for WhatsApp beta testing. Typical users may combine the WhatsApp beta program for a faster update, but there is no guarantee that the payment center will be available when you book the beta program.
To sign up for the beta program, a user can go to the Google Play Store and search the search bar for WhatsApp.
